Martin Mc Carthy’s poems have featured prominently in The New Stylus poetry journal in recent times, and the following three publications attracted great public interest:
Good morning, Mike. Yes, you will have to wait, but only until Friday. Then Shannon is going to use two of my love poems for her Valentine's Day special issue, and she has chosen an amazing picture to go with them! But I won't say more than that.
I am also doing a special post of my own for Valentine's Day. It will be my first in many months. It's a song - another collaboration with sound engineer, Johnny Duncan, and I believe it's really special - probably my best work yet. It's called 'Song of the Wind'. You could say that St. Valentine is bringing me out of semi-retirement here on Substack for the day.
I hope so, too. And I'm going all out this year to bring a message of love to the world because I believe that people are tired of all the wars and all the divisiveness, and brass politicians purporting to speak for them when they clearly don't. It's time to get rid of all the tyrants and fascists and spread a better message.
You tell'em, Martin, I'm with you. I have to be patient and remind myself of delayed gratification and, on Friday, I'll savour your love poems with gusto and joy.
Hi Portia, I'm so glad you're joining us. The poem / song I have ready to post conjures up the whole idea of Cathy and Wuthering Height, and lovers being unable to live because the miss each other. Just perfect for Valentine's Day!
Right here, my friend! I really can’t thank you enough for putting this post together to promote The New Stylus! I’m also delighted to hear that you are publishing “Song of the Wind” on Valentine’s Day! You couldn’t have picked a better choice, as everything about that song is otherworldly in the best way possible. As far as I’m concerned, Valentine’s Day can’t get here quick enough.
Thank you so much, my friend. What I have ready for Valentine's Day is a song titled 'Song of the Wind'. And I wrote it specifically as a song - a kind of haunting, brooding love song. I think it will be very much to your taste. I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of it.
well…well… now I have 2 reasons to look forward to Valentine's Day. One is, of course, to spend the day with my wife. The other is to listen to that song you wrote.
My sincere thanks and gratitude to @cjheck for restacking this post. I appreciate it.
New poems by the talented and accomplished Martin Mc Carthy are always welcome. But do we really have to wait till Valentine's Day?

I hope all your endeavors come together for a wonderful Valentine's Day.
I will look forward to the results.

I'm welling up already.😭
Are we the last two practitioners of love poems?
It's time for a comeback!
Yes, a fight back, beginning this Friday. Hopefully, we'll hear soon from the third musketeer!
Shannon, where are you?

Yes, indeed we do! It will be worth it though. ;)
Reading you is always a great pleasure, Martin. You have the ability to make my thoughts sing when I read you. I particularly liked these 2:
Egypt
A Christmas Card for Mum,
I'm looking forward to Valentine's Day so I can read you again

What a nice thing to say! Maybe both of you could listen together with a nice glass of wine or two on the day that's in it.
Thats the idea Martin
