Waves of You
Audio version by Johnny Duncan
This is the audio version of my poem, “Waves of You”. When I joined Substack over a year ago, it was my first post, and I had only a handful of subscribers on my list. Since then, that list has grown substantially. So now, it gives me great pleasure to be able to post this updated version, and perhaps reach a bigger audience this time. Once again, I’ve sought the assistance of sound engineer, Johnny Duncan, and once again he has produced an audio that in my view totally teases new depths from the lyrics. All comments are most welcome.
Waves of You
I want to hold you, long and close,
where waves break in twilight.
I want to hold you, long and close,
and see your eyes gleaming with joy.
I want to hold you, long and close,
in the tiered fragments of a vision.
I want to hold you, long and close,
whenever you come back to me
on the froth of the tide.
Lyrics by Martin Mc Carthy.
Sung by Ostara, a musical AI performer.
Engineered by Johnny Duncan.
“Waves of You” was previously published in The HyperTexts and The Chained Muse.
